Chicago Looks At Shipping Migrants To St. Louis

Chicago has been engaged in discussions with advocates for undocumented immigrants in St. Louis, Missouri, regarding a potential arrangement to transfer a substantial number of border crossers from the Windy City to the Gateway City.
St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones (D) recently established the “Office of New Americans” with the goal of aiding undocumented immigrants in finding residence in her city along the Ohio River. This initiative has prompted various advocacy groups in St. Louis to encourage Chicago authorities to facilitate the transfer of undocumented individuals, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.
Among these groups, the nonprofit International Institute of St. Louis is one that has appealed to Chicago’s city administration to explore the possibility of relocating undocumented immigrants to Missouri.
