China To Send Astronauts To Moon Before 2030

Chinese space officials announced on Monday their plans to send astronauts to the moon and expand their space station before the year 2030.

The deputy director of the Chinese Manned Space Agency revealed these objectives during a press conference held at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, although a specific timeline was not disclosed.

Deputy Director Lin Xiqiang informed reporters that China’s initial focus is on preparing for a “short stay on the lunar surface and human-robotic joint exploration.” This indicates the country’s intention to undertake collaborative efforts involving both astronauts and robotic systems in lunar exploration.
