Confederate Memorial Being Removed From Arlington National Cemetery

A Confederate memorial will be removed from Arlington National Cemetery in northern Virginia, as part of the push to remove symbols that commemorate the Confederacy from military-related facilities.
The cemetery made the announcement Saturday, and the memorial is scheduled to be removed in the coming days.
Over 40 Republican congressmen tried unsuccessfully to get the Pentagon to suspend efforts to dismantle and remove the monument from Arlington cemetery.
