Conservative Media Watchdog Bozell To Oversee Voice Of America

President Donald Trump has picked the founder of the nation’s top conservative media watchdogs to lead the agency that oversees Voice of America, Radio Free Europe, and Radio Marti.

In choosing L. Brent Bozell III to head the U.S. Agency for Global Media, Trump signaled an end to the liberal pitch in the diplomatic voices broadcast by the outlets as he moves to set an America-first agenda.

“As founder and president of the Media Research Center for 38 years, few understand the Global Media landscape in print, television, and online better than Brent,” said Trump.

“He and his family have fought for the American principles of Liberty, Freedom, Equality, and Justice for generations, and he will ensure that message is heard by Freedom-loving people around the World. Brent will bring some much needed change to the U.S. Agency for Global Media,” he added on his social media platforms.

Bozell, 69, said he is eager to meet with senators in advance of his confirmation.

He told Secrets, “The instructions from President Trump are clear. As with every other agency in the federal government, he wants USAGM to exercise fiscal responsibility. He also wants this agency to return to the key principle of promoting America and Americanism — free speech, free enterprise, individual freedom, the freedom to worship, and limited government with the consent of the governed — to the world. USAGM has an extraordinary mission and I’m honored the president has asked me to lead it.”

Conservative political voices were quick to embrace the president’s pick.
