Court Records Indicate Murder Suspect Violated Protection Order

The man accused of killing Avriel Hooks had his first appearance in Lynchburg’s Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Wednesday.
The Amherst County clerk’s office says Perry was assigned a court-appointed attorney. His next court date is October.
Michael Perry III is the father of Hooks’ child. WDBJ7 spoke with Hooks’ mom, who says the pair had a complex past.
