Three tourists lost their lives over the weekend after swimming in the Gulf of Mexico amidst hazardous surf conditions.
According to an official release, the tragic incidents took place on Saturday near Panama City Beach, with local law enforcement responding to “three separate fatal water incidents behind three different resorts.” The term “fatal water incidents” is used because authorities have yet to determine whether the victims drowned or experienced other medical emergencies while in the water.
With these recent fatalities, the death toll along the Bay County coastline has now reached seven within a span of just nine days.
