A Department of Defense official, Frederick Douglass Moorefield Jr., 62, of Arnold, Maryland, who formerly held the position of deputy chief information officer for the Secretary of Defense’s office, has recently been charged with allegations of facilitating a dogfighting ring.
This ring is accused of brutally executing some of the dogs that survived the fights by using jumper cables. Moorefield, along with 49-year-old Mario Damon Flythe of Glen Burnie, Maryland, was charged last month with promoting and advancing an animal fighting venture, as reported by the Department of Justice.
The Department of Justice further details that Moorefield and Flythe utilized an encrypted messaging system to exchange information on training dogs for fights and organizing these violent contests. Moorefield operated under the name “Geehad Kennels,” while Flythe’s operation was identified as “Razor Sharp Kennels,” according to authorities.
