Defense Fund For Marine Vet Penny Charged In Fellow Subway Rider’s Death Hits $1.5M

A legal defense fund for Marine veteran Daniel Penny as of Sunday had grown to $1.5 million, five days after his lawyers started the campaign.
Penny, 24, was arraigned Friday on one count of second-degree manslaughter in connection for putting a fellow a New York City subway rider in what turned out to be a fatal chokinghold in a subway car.
Prosecutors say the victim, 30-year-old Jordan Neely, had been “making threats and scaring passengers.”
The money for Perry is being raised on the Christian crowdfunding site GiveSendGo.
