Blue-chip quarterback recruit Julian “Ju Ju” Lewis, the top-ranked uncommitted player in 2025, announced his commitment to Colorado football and coach Deion Sanders on Thursday via “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Lewis, who had been committed to USC over a year, decommitted from the Trojans on Sunday after taking recent visits to Georgia and Colorado. The Carrolton, Georgia, native also showed interest in Indiana amid the Hoosiers’ 10-0 start under first-year coach Curt Cignetti.
Lewis is a four-star recruit in 247Sports’ Composite rankings. However, he is listed as the No. 2 overall player by ESPN and No. 6 player by Rivals. Lewis is the No. 35 overall player and No. 6 quarterback in the class, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings.
Lewis, originally a 2026 recruit, reclassified in January and announced he was graduating early and skipping a year of high school football. The Carrolton High School product completed 186 of 280 passes for 3,094 yards with a whopping 48 touchdowns to two interceptions as a sophomore last season.
The 6-foot-1 signal caller should have a chance at starting for the Buffaloes next season, as they’re set to lose second-year starter Shedeur Sanders, who’s projected to be the first quarterback selected in the upcoming NFL draft. Lewis is set to join an offense that ranks 26th in scoring offense this season.
