Dem Rep. Eric Swalwell Reportedly Used Campaign Funds To Buy Super Bowl Tickets

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California, known for his fervent support of the San Francisco 49ers, allocated $22,000 in campaign funds for tickets to this year’s Super Bowl, as per records from the Federal Election Commission.

Swalwell’s attendance at the Feb. 11 Super Bowl in Las Vegas raised eyebrows, particularly regarding how he financed the expensive tickets, given his history of financial liabilities, reported the Washington Free Beacon.

Campaign filings reveal that Swalwell’s committee categorized the $22,000 expenditure as a fundraising expense for the San Francisco 49ers game in its pre-primary filing with the FEC, obtained by Fox News.

Additionally, financial records indicate that Swalwell utilized supplementary funds alongside the ticket purchases, including over $100 spent at Allegiant Stadium, where the 49ers competed against the Kansas City Chiefs, and nearly $3,000 at a Las Vegas restaurant named Alexxa’s Las Vegas.

The filings also detail a $30,900 expenditure designated as “Event Tickets for Fundraising Event,” presumably used at the Las Vegas Raiders stadium.

Swalwell reportedly engaged in some campaign-related activities at the Super Bowl, meeting with representatives from the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association, as per the group’s website.
