Author Marianne Williamson declared on Wednesday that she is “unsuspending” her presidential campaign, asserting that American voters are witnessing a “car crash in slow motion” with the current slate of candidates.
“Hey, I have an important announcement to make. As of today, I am unsuspending my campaign for the presidency of the United States,” Williamson stated in a video shared on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The underdog challenger to Biden had previously announced the suspension of her campaign in a video released three weeks ago.
She acknowledged in Wednesday’s video that she withdrew because “I was losing the horse race.”
“But, something so much more important than the horse race is at stake here. And we must respond,” she emphasized.
Williamson’s announcement coincided with the release of the Michigan primary election results, where both former President Trump and President Biden secured victories in their respective primaries, albeit with indications that some voters from both parties harbor discontent with their likely nominee.
