The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is intentionally withholding the monthly figures detailing the overall count of unauthorized migrants who are ultimately released into the U.S. subsequent to their encounters with U.S. authorities at the border, as indicated by a former U.S. immigration judge.
Andrew Arthur, a former immigration judge who held the position for eight years at the now-closed immigration court in York, Pennsylvania, informed Just the News that the DHS does indeed monitor the total count of migrants who are released after being encountered by border agents. However, he suggested that this data is being withheld from public access due to the potential negative portrayal it could cast upon the Biden Administration.
Arthur stated, “The sole reason for ICE and OFO [Office of Field Operations] to decline the disclosure of this information is to obscure the reality that over 100,000 migrants are being released into the United States each month, and to mask the consequences of these migrant releases on communities throughout the country.”
