Eric Adams Makes New York ‘Sanctuary City’ For Child Sex Changes

Mayor Eric Adams took a significant step on Monday by signing an executive order to declare New York City a sanctuary city for gender-affirming care. The executive order, known as Executive Order 32, specifically prohibits the utilization of city resources for the purpose of detaining, prosecuting, or investigating individuals who have sought, obtained, provided, or facilitated gender-affirming care, regardless of whether it was acquired within or outside the state of New York.

Adams, in a statement, emphasized the city’s commitment to championing justice and combatting discrimination, particularly amid the ongoing attacks targeting the LGBTQ+ community in various states across the nation.

He stated, “As states across the nation continue their onslaught of attacks on our LGBTQ+ neighbors, New York City is doing what we have always done — standing up for justice and against discrimination.”
