Ex-NFL Player Deported To US To Face Charges For Allegedly Murdering His Mother

Former NFL player Sergio Brown was apprehended this week following the issuance of a warrant for first-degree murder in connection with the tragic passing of his mother.
NBC News has reported that Sergio Brown, a 35-year-old former defensive back, was taken into custody by law enforcement authorities in San Diego on Tuesday. He is currently awaiting extradition to Illinois to face charges related to the death of his 73-year-old mother, Myrtle Jean Simmons-Brown.
The unfortunate incident occurred in mid-September when Myrtle Jean Simmons-Brown was discovered deceased in a creek behind her residence in Chicago. Officials determined that her death was the result of injuries sustained from an assault.
