FBI Releases Details In CA Assassination Attempt To Kill Queen Elizabeth

Newly declassified FBI files have brought to light a potential plot to assassinate Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom during her visit to California in 1983.

According to one document, the San Francisco police received a tip approximately one month prior to the visit, which detailed a phone call made by an individual claiming that his daughter had been killed in Northern Ireland as a result of a rubber bullet.

The document further stated that the man expressed intentions to harm Queen Elizabeth, proposing two possible methods. One involved dropping an object off the Golden Gate Bridge onto the Royal Yacht Britannia as it passed underneath, while the other involved attempting to harm the Queen during her visit to Yosemite National Park.
