Chris Smith, a defensive end who spent eight seasons in the NFL, has died, according to his West Rowan High School in North Carolina.
He was 31. No cause of death was announced.
Smith played with the Jaguars, Bengals, Browns, Raiders, and Texans from 2014-21. Throughout his career, he appeared in 72 games, starting two games for Cleveland in 2018.
