Gun Used In Kansas City Super Bowl Parade Was Stolen

Four individuals have been apprehended in connection with the fatal shooting during the Kansas City Super Bowl Parade on February 14, and documents indicate that one of the firearms involved in the incident was reported stolen.

According to official documents, a firearm recovered at the scene was flagged as stolen after a computer check traced its origin to Kansas City, Missouri.

This development follows the arrest and identification of Lyndell Mays and Dominic Miller, both of whom sustained injuries during the shooting and remain hospitalized. Each faces a $1 million bond and has been charged with second-degree murder. Additionally, two juveniles were arrested last week, facing charges related to weapons possession and resisting arrest. The FBI is currently seeking a fifth individual in connection with the incident.

A statement from Detective Grant Spiking outlined that Mays admitted to firing two shots during the altercation and acknowledged the inappropriate use of a firearm. The shooting unfolded amidst a large crowd gathered to celebrate the Chiefs Super Bowl Parade, resulting in 25 individuals being wounded by gunfire, including one fatality.

Further details from the document indicate that investigators discovered multiple spent shell casings and a Glock 9mm handgun at the scene.

The firearm, found near Mays, contained six live rounds in its magazine and an additional round in the chamber. The subsequent investigation revealed that the handgun had been reported stolen in Kansas City.
