New Yorkers surrendered thousands of firearms to the State over the weekend in exchange for gift cards ranging from $25 to $500 at a statewide, no-questions-asked “landmark event” coordinated by the attorney general’s office.
New York State Attorney General Letitia James said officials collected more than 3,000 guns at nine buyback locations throughout the state, ABC reported.
Authorities did not ask for any personal information of those giving up their guns, including names, addresses, or proof of ownership.
