Haley Has ‘Fuzzy Fundraising Math’: Politico

Politico, the well-known, inside-the-Beltway politics publication, says in a story posted Sunday the campaign for 2024 GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley touted a big first-quarter take but filings Saturday “don’t quite add up.”
The former U.N. ambassador’s campaign touted having raising $11 million from Haley’s mid-February launch to the end of the quarter, which is March 31.
The campaign had said it got that figure by stating it had $5.1 million in receipts, $4.4 million for Team Stand for America, a joint fundraising committee, and $1.2 million for Stand for America PAC, a Haley-launched leadership PAC.

However, a review the FEC filing after the Saturday filing deadline, Politico says, shows Haley’s campaign and two affiliated groups in fact raised just roughly $8.3 million.
The discrepancy, Politico says, between the Haley campaign’s public statements and the numbers on the filings appear to be a case of double-counting.
