Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri has addressed a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, urging the termination of the agency’s newly established “Intelligence Experts Group.”
Hawley contends that the group serves as another means for the current administration to stifle opposition, pointing out that it is set to be led by three individuals who dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation when it initially emerged in 2020.
In his letter, Hawley emphasizes, “John Brennan, James Clapper, and Paul Kolbe all endorsed the notorious October 2020 letter, which falsely labeled the Hunter Biden laptop story as ‘Russian misinformation.’ This was an overt effort to assist then-candidate Joe Biden.”
