Hilary Marks First Tropical Storm Watch For Southern California

The National Hurricane Center has issued an unprecedented tropical storm watch for Southern California as Hurricane Hilary, currently a powerful Category 4 hurricane, is anticipated to unleash “rare and dangerous flooding” in the southwestern United States.
This historic tropical storm watch encompasses the region from the California-Mexico border to the boundary between Los Angeles and Orange counties, encompassing Catalina Island in California, according to the hurricane center.
While Hurricane Hilary is predicted to weaken in intensity, it is still projected to deliver substantial rainfall to portions of California following its impact on Mexico. The storm’s remnants are also forecasted to bring potent winds to certain areas of California, including the Los Angeles Basin, according to reports from the Weather Channel.
