House Passes Bill To Increase Iran Oil Sanctions

On Friday, the House approved a bill with the purpose of penalizing entities involved in facilitating the trade of Iranian oil, such as refineries and ports.
The bill garnered strong support, passing with a vote of 342-69. A significant number of Democrats, 133 in total, joined nearly all Republicans in favor of the bill, while 68 Democrats and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) voted against it.
While a similar bipartisan bill has been introduced in the Senate, it remains uncertain when or if the Senate will consider it.
