In an interview with Israel Hayom, U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy promised to invite Netanyahu to Washington D.C. if U.S. President Joe Biden does not.
“If that [an invitation to the White House] doesn’t happen, I’ll invite the prime minister to come meet with the House. He’s a dear friend, as a prime minister of a country that we have our closest ties with,” McCarthy said.
McCarthy is leading a bipartisan Congressional delegation to Israel. The delegation will visit Yad Vashem today before visiting the Knesset, where McCarthy will address the Knesset plenum. He will become the second Speaker of the House to do so, following Newt Gingrich in 1998.
