Hunter Biden Gun Case Search Warrants To Be Unsealed

Delaware U.S. District Judge Maryellen Norieka has granted a request to unseal four search warrants used in the federal weapons case against Hunter Biden. The warrants are related to special counsel David Weiss’ investigations into unlawful firearm possession and tax fraud allegations against the son of President Joe Biden.

The unsealed warrants are expected to provide insights into the legal basis for seizing Hunter Biden’s electronic devices and the evidence used to build the criminal cases against him.

The decision to unseal the records follows a request by an independent journalist in response to their mention in court papers earlier this month during arguments against Hunter’s attempt to dismiss the charges.

There were no objections from Hunter Biden’s defense team or Weiss’ office regarding the unsealing of the search warrants. The specific timeline for when the documents will be accessible is not immediately clear.

The four warrants include two from August 29, 2019, and July 10, 2020, obtained by tax authorities and the FBI to investigate Hunter Biden’s Apple iCloud account. A third warrant from December 13, 2019, was used to examine Hunter Biden’s notorious laptop.

The fourth warrant, obtained on December 4, 2021, was utilized to collect electronic evidence related to the gun case, which was unsealed almost three months earlier. Hunter Biden is currently facing three felony charges related to alleged false statements about his drug addiction during the purchase of a firearm five years ago.
