Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced his run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, following months of speculation, as his campaign filed election papers today.
The candidacy pits him against former President Donald Trump as the battle for the Republican Party’s nomination heats up.
DeSantis expects to make a formal announcement later today on Twitter.
