Joe Biden’s Brother To Sit For Closed-Door Deposition

President Joe Biden’s brother, James Biden, is scheduled to undergo a closed-door deposition shortly before his nephew Hunter testifies in the president’s impeachment inquiry.

The House Oversight Committee, chaired by James Comer, has reached an agreement for James Biden’s private deposition, set for around February 21, with Hunter Biden scheduled to testify on February 28. Comer expressed confidence in the lineup of individuals scheduled for testimony, emphasizing that efforts are underway to bring in additional witnesses through letters of invitation.

The House Oversight Committee has recently conducted depositions with several of Hunter’s business associates, including lawyer and friend Kevin Morris, as well as business associates Rob Walker and Mervyn Yan.

James and Hunter Biden were subpoenaed by the committee in November 2023, but both failed to appear for scheduled depositions in December. Despite the initial subpoena, Hunter Biden arrived in Washington DC and addressed the media outside the Capitol, dismissing the subpoena as “illegitimate.”

Following their non-compliance in January, the House Oversight Committee released a statement outlining Hunter Biden’s rescheduled testimony date in late February.

The depositions are part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry, with the committee taking steps to ensure the participation of key individuals in the investigation.
