Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley says he was never given an “illegal order” after the 2020 elections from then-President Donald Trump.
Milley made the comment on ABC News in an interview aired Sunday, after being asked whether Trump ordered him to use the military to remain in office after the election, which Trump lost.
“I argued the case at various times for alternative courses of action, never received an illegal order,” Milley said.
According to reports from two years ago, top generals were concerned that Trump would attempt a coup to stay in office after losing the 2020 election.
