A New Mexico judge on Monday set the trial date for actor Alec Baldwin on involuntary manslaughter charges in connection with the accidental shooting on the set of “Rust” for early July.
The proceeding will begin July 9 with jury selection, with testimony set to begin the following day.
The trial is scheduled to conclude July 19.
Baldwin is accused of firing a live bullet from a revolver in October 2021 while preparing for a scene.
Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed and director Joel Souza was wounded in the incident.
Baldwin has denied pulling the trigger and argues he was told before the rehearsal started the gun did not hve live ammunition.
Baldwin, if convicted, faces a maximum 18 months in prison.
Prosecutors will purportedly try holding him responsible for the incident because he was a producer.
