Judge Temporarily Stops Trump’s NY Fraud Trial

A New York state appeals court judge has temporarily halted the scheduled October 2 trial in the fraud lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James against Donald Trump and his family business.
This development followed a lawsuit filed by the former U.S. president against Justice Arthur Engoron, the trial judge overseeing the case. Trump accused Engoron and James of defying a court order that could have potentially narrowed the lawsuit, as reported by the Daily Beast.
The court spokesperson confirmed that Appeals Court Justice David Friedman has granted an interim stay of the trial. The matter has been referred to a five-judge panel, which anticipates making a ruling in the final week of September.
