In South Carolina, authorities are searching for an individual who allegedly breached security at the Oconee Nuclear Station.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office was alerted at approximately 8:05 p.m. on Thursday when they received reports of a man driving a silver 2002 Toyota Camry who had breached the exit gate on the Highway 183 side of the plant.
According to a press release, after the vehicle struck the activated pop-up barricades installed by the plant’s security, the driver reversed the vehicle and proceeded down a dirt road. Duke Energy security personnel blocked the vehicle, but the driver attempted to strike the security officers before driving through a fence.
