A Maryland man stole an ambulance Sunday in an attempt to allude police after allegedly causing a series of hit-and-run accidents Saturday in northern Virginia.
The man has been identified as Darell T. Caldwell, 30.
The entire incident began when Caldwell, in a stolen truck ,allegedly caused two multi-vehicle crashes.
He then allegedly fled on foot, stole another truck and caused a third crash, then stole the ambulance attending to that crash after the medics exiting the emergency vehicle.
