Maricopa County Again Asks for Sanctions Against Kari Lake For Contesting Election

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell has for the second time asked for sanctions against Kari Lake and her attorneys related to the 2022 election.
The request was filed on Tuesday after county Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson last week ruled a second time against Lake’s election lawsuit, following a second trial that he conducted after being remanded back from the Arizona Supreme Court.
The first request was over a suit last year in which Lake was a co-plaintiff  and that sought to stop the use of electronic voting machine tabulators in the election.

In the new suit Mitchell, on behalf of her and other county officials, assert Lake and her counsel “repeatedly made demonstrably false statements to this Court on remand. These material misstatements of fact brought frivolous arguments and frivolous claims before the Court.”
