Mayorkas Heads To Southern Border As Daily Crossing Pass 10K

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is set to make an unexpected visit to the U.S.-Mexico border on Saturday, responding to a historic week marked by daily encounters with migrants attempting illegal entry that exceeded 10,000 and displayed no signs of abating.
The DHS disclosed the visit on Friday, stating that Mayorkas will journey to the Rio Grande Valley in southeast Texas.
In an unusual development, he will be accompanied by a foreign dignitary, Honduran President Xiomara Castro, as they tour the McAllen area.
