California GOP Rep. Kevin McCarthy said Sunday he expected an attempt being led by fellow House Republican Conference member Matt Gaetz to remove as speaker.
Gaetz and other hardline conservatives that McCarthy used Democrat votes Saturday to pass a stopgap spending bill to keep open the federal government.
“I’ll survive,” McCarthy said on CBS. “This is personal with Gaetz.”
