On Tuesday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced his intention to lead an initiative aimed at holding FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress. This action would be pursued if Wray refuses to share an informant file that alleges President Biden’s involvement in a $5 million bribery scheme during his tenure as vice president.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) issued a subpoena to Wray, setting a deadline of Tuesday for compliance with the request. Comer cautioned that failure to comply would initiate the contempt process.
During an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” McCarthy (R-CA) declared his readiness to initiate contempt charges against Wray if he misses the aforementioned deadline.
