Michigan House Pass Bill Making Wrong Pronouns A Felony

The Michigan state House of Representatives has approved a bill, known as HB 4474, which aims to classify the act of intimidating individuals through the use of incorrect gender pronouns as a felony offense.

According to the legislation, individuals found guilty of this offense could face severe penalties, including imprisonment for up to 5 years or a fine of up to $10,000.

The bill specifically targets actions that cause others to feel threatened or intimidated due to the use of gender pronouns that do not align with their gender identity. By criminalizing such behavior, lawmakers aim to protect individuals from discrimination and harassment based on their gender identity.
