Migrants Drive 110% Spike In NYC Homeless Shelter Population

According to a report from The Washington Post, New York City’s homeless shelter system is facing significant strain due to an influx of undocumented immigrants migrating to the sanctuary city. Local taxpayers are shouldering the financial burden, as detailed in the report.

Under Mayor Eric Adams’ leadership, approximately 100,000 border crossers and illegal immigrants have arrived in New York City since the spring of the previous year.

Despite this influx, Adams has not requested the Biden administration to halt the inflow. Instead, he has advocated for the White House to expedite work permits for these new arrivals.
