A missing woman was found and rescued Tuesday after surviving six days in her crashed car in Newton County, Indiana.
Brieonna Cassell, 41, of Wheatfield, was reported missing six days ago, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.
Cassell’s mother, Kim Brown, said her daughter visited her Wednesday night. But days later, Brown had not heard from Cassell.
“She just fell asleep, and… there was a bridge there, and she just veered over to the left and missed the bridge and ended up in a very deep ditch,” said Cassell’s father, Delmar Caldwell.
The Newton County Sheriff’s office said Cassell’s car fell into a ditch off a rural county road. The back of the car was immersed in a creek.
“She also told her daughter she was giving up hope this morning,” Caldwell said. “She was giving up hope that anybody was going to find her.”
