The NAACP Board of Directors issued a statement on Saturday warning black Americans that the state of Florida was not a safe place for them and included an official “travel advisory” calling the state “openly hostile” – but the board’s chairman, Leon Russell, apparently lives in Florida himself.
Florida GOP Chairman Christian Ziegler quickly noticed that Russell, chairman of the NAACP’s Board of Directors, lived in Florida — and he offered a quick response.
“The CHAIRMAN of the @NAACP lives in Tampa, FLORIDA!” he tweeted. “True leadership is being willing to do what you ask others to do … time to step up and MOVE. If you think our state is so bad, the @FloridaGOP will help with moving costs.”
