Robert J. O’Neill, a former Navy SEAL who participated in the mission to eliminate Osama bin Laden, has criticized the U.S. Navy for enlisting a drag queen to encourage new recruits to join the service.
Joshua Kelley, an active-duty drag queen who identifies as non-binary and goes by the stage name Harpy Daniels, was hired as a “Navy Digital Ambassador” for the Digital Ambassador pilot program, which aimed to explore digital platforms to attract potential military recruits between October 2022 and March 2023.
O’Neill, a decorated combat veteran who served for eight years with SEAL Team Six and received numerous awards for his service, expressed his disbelief on Twitter, stating that he could not fathom having fought for what he deemed “bullsh-t.”
