On Sunday’s episode of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” host Kristen Welker presented a panel of female Michigan voters, which included a transgender woman.
The segment focused on Macomb County and a group of women who had supported President Biden in the previous election.
Among the panelists was Ashley Mitsch, a transgender voter, who expressed that being trans made voting for Republicans feel like a “death sentence,” as highlighted by conservative media watchdog NewsBusters.
Mitsch elaborated, stating that she did not see a strong candidate among Democrats but indicated, albeit reluctantly, that she planned to vote for the 81-year-old president.
The overall sentiment of the panel reflected a lack of enthusiasm for the presidential choices, with only three participants raising their hands to indicate a clear decision in their vote.
Welker noted “startling warning signs” for Biden from Democratic voters in Michigan, a pivotal swing state that narrowly went to Biden in 2020 after being won by former President Trump in 2016. Winning Michigan is deemed crucial once again for the White House campaign in the upcoming year.
