NJ Governor Spends Thousands In Taxpayer Fund To Party At Taylor Swift Concert

Democratic New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has called upon the state’s Democratic Party to reimburse taxpayers for $12,000 in state funds used at a Taylor Swift concert and other stadium events, primarily allocated for food and beverages at MetLife Stadium, as reported by Politico.
Upon learning of the expenditures, the governor’s office informed the state Democratic Party to settle the expenses, as it had been the original plan.
The governor’s office had initially anticipated the state party to shoulder these costs but later realized that it had not transpired. The funds were drawn from a personal expense account amounting to $95,000, exclusively designated for “Official Receptions, Official Residence, and Other Official Expenses,” as outlined by Politico. It is not permissible to employ these funds for personal purposes.
