Not So Fast: Accountability Group Wants Joint Chiefs Chairman Nominee Investigated

A Washington-based accountability organization has lodged a complaint urging multiple U.S. government entities to conduct investigations into USAF Gen. Charles Quinton (C.Q.) Brown, the Air Force Chief of Staff and President Biden’s nominee for the position of Joint Chiefs Chairman, seeking to replace Gen Mark Milley.

The American Accountability Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to informing the public on matters related to personnel, policy, and spending, submitted a formal request on July 10 to the Inspector Generals for the Air Force and the Pentagon, as well as the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department. The complaint calls for these agencies to examine the general’s “potential constitutional and ethical violations.”

The 10-page complaint, obtained by ADN America, is centered around Gen. Brown’s previous statements regarding the consideration of race in hiring practices, as well as his stance on monitoring the personal beliefs of employees or potential employees with the aim of censoring those beliefs. The complaint raises concerns about possible violations related to constitutional principles and ethical standards.
