Stockton Rush, the founder and CEO of OceanGate, allegedly hired college interns to design the electrical systems for the ill-fated Titan submersible, as revealed in a report by The New Yorker.
Despite safety warnings, Rush reportedly engaged students from Washington State University to work on crucial systems for the submersible.
The report stated that former interns claimed responsibility for designing and implementing the entire electrical system, emphasizing its functionality. These revelations emerged from an interview with the college paper in February 2018.
