Oklahoma Gas Pipeline Explosion Sends Flames 500 Feet Into Air

On Tuesday night, a gas pipeline in the Oklahoma Panhandle exploded, sending flames soaring approximately 500 feet into the air.

Multiple agencies responded to the incident, which occurred just before 9:45 p.m. in Beaver County, Oklahoma, north of Darrouzett, Texas, as reported by the Booker Fire Department.

Video footage from the scene captured flames reaching an estimated height of 500 feet, according to the fire department. The glow from the fire was visible for miles, as noted by the Elmwood Fire Department.

Emergency crews from various departments in Oklahoma and Texas maintained a safe distance until the gas supply could be halted, with fire officials indicating that following the shutdown, approximately 13 miles of pipeline would need to be drained.

Authorities advised residents to steer clear of the area south of Midway Church near NS 154 Road and EW 29 Road.

As of the report, the cause of the fire and the presence of any injuries remained unclear.
