Two subway trains collided in Beijing amid heavy snow, resulting in 515 people being sent to the hospital, including 102 with broken bones.
The incident occurred the previous evening on an above-ground section of the Changping line in Beijing’s mountainous west.
Slippery tracks triggered automatic braking on the leading train, while the following train, on a descending section, skidded and was unable to brake in time, according to a statement from the city transport authority on its social media account.
