A federal watchdog is set to investigate the Biden administration’s site selection process for a new FBI headquarters, following a contentious competition riddled with allegations of conflict of interest.
The Inspector General for the General Services Administration is launching an inquiry into the decision to choose Greenbelt, Maryland, as the location for the facility instead of a site in Virginia, as disclosed in a letter released Thursday by Virginia lawmakers.
This new building is intended to replace the deteriorating FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C.
