House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan on Friday instructed Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to keep their records related to the border crisis, as they prepare to leave office next year.
The requests were the latest signal that the committee plans to continue its investigations into the Biden-Harris administration’s alleged failures. The committee sent requests to officials in the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) last week.
Jordan expressed concern in the letters that the departments would purge the documents, communications, and information that the committee has repeatedly requested when they leave office.
