Republicans Push For Release Of Footage From Bowman Fire Alarm Incident

A group of House Republicans, including Reps. Barry Moore (R-AL), Troy Nehls (R-TX), Dan Bishop (R-NC), and Lauren Boebert (R-CO), has formally requested that the U.S. Capitol Police release all video footage of Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) allegedly pulling a fire alarm in a House office building.
This incident, which was seen as an attempt to disrupt congressional proceedings as lawmakers discussed a continuing resolution for government funding, is currently under investigation.
In their letter addressed to U.S. Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger, the Republican lawmakers cited a commitment to transparency and requested the release of the security footage in its entirety. The letter also noted that Rep. Bowman could potentially face legal consequences under two statutes, outlining the potential penalties for his actions.
