RFK Jr. Says Trump’s Team Reached Out About VP Spot, Trump Campaign Denies Claim

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has declined an offer to be Donald Trump’s running mate in the 2024 election, despite confirmation that he had been approached by Trump’s team.

In a recent interview with NewsNation, Kennedy, 70, stated, “I would not take that job. I’m flattered that President Trump would offer it to me, but it’s not something that I’m interested in.”

The concept of a Trump-Kennedy ticket had been suggested by the Trump campaign, but Kennedy’s response clarified his disinterest in the position. Addressing the rumors, Kennedy emphasized that he would not accept the role, despite the acknowledgment of the offer.

The potential collaboration had generated some controversy, with statements from both sides. A post on social media by Trump campaign strategist Chris LaCivita dismissed the idea, calling it “100% FAKE NEWS” and emphasizing that no one from the campaign had approached Kennedy, whom he described as one of the most liberal and radical environmentalists in the country.

Trump, in a recent Fox News interview, mentioned that he is in “no rush” to announce his running mate.

He stated, “It’s never really had that much of an effect on an election, which is an amazing thing. I may or may not release something over the next couple of months. There’s no rush to that. It won’t have any impact at all.”
